Do I need a permit to camp in Land Between the Lakes?

You may camp almost anywhere in Land Between the Lakes. A Basic Camping Permit is required for each person 18 and over when camping in Basic Camping Facilities. Basic Campground amenities include defined campsites, fire rings and/or grills, picnic tables, vault toilet, trash removal, mowed areas, and a boat ramp.

Are there bears in Land Between the Lakes?

Bobcats and black bears live on the LBL, as do red wolves, though these you’ll see only at the Nature Station, as the beautiful canids were declared biologically extinct in the wild more than 30 years ago (now red wolf/coyote hybridization programs keep the line going).

How do you pay for camping at Turkey Bay?

Choose a site, then insert your camping fee in the envelope provided, and deposit the envelope in the “Iron Ranger” fee tube at the entrance. Camping fee is for each camping unit. Turkey Bay Off-Highway Vehicle Area camping also uses this form of camping payment. Hosts are available at Cravens Bay March through October.

Is there an entrance fee to land between the lakes?

Land Between the Lakes does not have an Entrance Fee or Standard Amenity Fees. We have Expanded Amenity Fees. Volunteer and Annual Passes are not accepted at Land Between the Lakes. When traveling to different federal land management areas, ask how they implement the passes as benefits may be different.

Can a military pass be used at land between the lakes?
